Please find (attached) more information about participatory budgeting process for the community grants programme in the next financial year to benefit Portobello/Craigmillar Ward. We’re calling it: You Decide! These small grant awards used to be decided by those few of us on the local Neighbourhood Partnership Board, as and when the proposals came in and not everybody knew the cash was available and how decisions were made. For this coming financial year, we wanted to let more people determine what projects should get funding; spread the word widely about what is available; and help build the capacity of local people to make a difference in their area. See more on the attached leaflet.
The Craigmillar community are proudly hosting the second preview of ‘StAnza’. The first being at the National Library of Scotland. Craigmillar will be the first community library to preview this internationally acclaimed event in St Andrews in March. Craigmillar Poets will also be attending the event in St Andrews for the very first time. Making the presentation will be the Festival Director, Eleanor Livingstone, performing will be the Edinburgh Makar Christine De Luca and also poet Agnes Torok. Please see details here to also mark World Community Arts Day. Just hoping to spread the word. It would be lovely if a lot of people were there to attend event tomorrow at 6pm, if you can! http://www.cityofliterature.com/event/world-community-arts-day-stanza-preview/
